BODY Swami Dayanand believed that the essence of the Arya Samaj, if not far beyond the religious periphery, was to say that the purpose of one's life should be to work for the physical, social, and spiritual welfare of the people. He gave more importance to mass upliftment than individual upliftment. He said that social welfare and collective upliftment are possible only when one has a sense of service and sacrifice. Magadha Empire

Magadha: -The state of Magadha was established by Jarasangha and Brihadrath. After Brihadrath, Haryakvansh, Shishunagvansh and Nandvansh came on the throne. In the time of Haryakvanshi Bimbisara and Ajatashatru, Magadha developed a lot.

Haryakvansh

Bimbisara: - He won the Anga kingdom and merged it with Magadha to make his capital Rajgiri (Girivraj). He also established extramarital affairs with some states and extended the borders of the empire. He married Rani Kosaldevi, sister of King Prasenjit of Koshal and also got the territory of Kashi. He had another marriage with Chellana, the daughter of King Chetak of the Lichhavi kingdom. He was also married to Rani Khema of Madras. He was also married to Amrapali, the bride of Vaishali. Mahavira Swami and and Buddha were contemporaries of Bimbisara. He was gifted a forest called Veluvan to the Buddha and his wife Rani Khema became a follower of the Buddha. Rani Chellana became a follower of Jainism. Bimbisara was the first king to establish a standing army in India. According to legend, Bimbisara was killed by his son Ajatashatru.

Ajatshatru: - He got the throne by killing his father. In addition, the confrontation with Koshal Naresh Prasenjit increased which in the end Prasenjit had to bow down against Ajatashatru. And married his daughter Vraja to Ajatashatru. Vaishali also conquered the republic. Ajatashatru also called the first Buddhist meeting.

Udayan: - Killed his father, got the throne and made his capital Pataliputra.

Shishunagvansh

Shishunag: - He was a king elected by the people. He defeated Avanti. Built his capital Rajagriha.

Kalashok: - He made it his capital Pataliputra and called another general assembly of Buddhism in which two sects fell under the name of Theravada and Mahasanghika. Kalashok was ambushed and died after 10 consecutive holidays came to the throne.

Nandvansh

Mahapadmanabha: -The first real emperor on Magadha who developed Magadha as an empire. After that, seven kings came to the throne one after the other, whose information is not particularly available.

Dhanananda (dhananand): - Dhanananda is known as the last king of the Nand dynasty. The Greeks called it "Ograsenya". The people were unhappy with the Nandvansh because of the total inferiority of the Nandvansh. From above Dhanand was a man of greedy nature. He levied taxes on general consumption items. Thus the people were annoyed by the Nandvansh. Dhanananda's son converted to Jainism and left the world and now Dhanananda had no heir so he appointed his Amatya's son as heir. Alexander was invaded at the same time, and was the last king of the Nand dynasty to be defeated by Chandragupta Morya with the help of Chanakya.
